* Fishing pond (bring own rods) and walk-in access to the National Park all minutes away from the cabin!
* Limited Cell service- not the strongest signal due to secluded location.

Guest access

The whole cabin is available to guests except the owner’s closet in the 2nd bedroom.

Additional notes

* Download the National Park Service app for the latest information on Shenandoah National Park. Please confirm prior to departure if pets are allowed on trails.
Shenandoah National Park boundary markers are visible on the trees behind the cabin letting you know where the park line begins. Guests are able to wander the park (look for the hidden waterfall!), but be advised these are not marked trails. Highly recommend strong hiking expertise if planning to hike off-trail. Nearby SNP and AT hiking trail recommendations are provided in the listing and welcome guide.

* The cabin is tucked away in the wilderness. This is a nature habitat. There are a number of species, animal to insect, that may be seen while at the cabin, and may enter the cabin if non-screened windows/doors are left open. Please be mindful of this. We perform preventative maintenance monthly, but supplies are available under the kitchen sink if needed.

* This is a dog friendly cabin. While we welcome guests without pets please note pets have been in the cabin if you have a serious pet allergy.

* October - January is hunting season. While we do not allow hunting on the property you may see and hear others hunting in the area. Please use caution and keep an eye on your pets when in the woods. Bright collars and tags are highly recommended.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any concerns or questions before or during your stay, otherwise we will leave you alone to relax and enjoy your surroundings. Our local host Brittany will take great care of you and can help answer any questions, but otherwise we are just 2-hours away.

Neighborhood overview

This property is tucked away high in the mountains creating the perfect secluded getaway. There are neighbors in the Skyline Lakes community, but none of them are visible from the cabin. The property achieves a good balance of privacy and convenience with town and amenities only 20 minutes down the mountain. Your backyard is literally Shenandoah National Park!

* OCT - MARCH 4WD/AWD Required. Chains highly recommended!

Getting around

*Roads to the cabin (last 10 minutes) are STEEP gravel roads and can be tough to navigate in winter without the proper vehicle. 4-WHEEL/ALL-WHEEL DRIVE ARE REQUIRED & CHAINS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BETWEEN OCTOBER - MARCH AND DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER.

*Cell service is limited. Follow your GPS map (maps will still work in offline mode even if you lose cell service on the way up).

*Parking for 4 vehicles on the gravel driveway.

House Rules

*Upon check-in report any issues or concerns within 24 hours so we can attempt to resolve and document the situation.

*Limit 2 dogs. No cats. All pet must be documented.

*No smoking of any kind permitted inside house or on deck. Immediate removal from premises w/o refund will occur. An add’l $250 ozone cleaning fee will be charged to sanitize the house.

*The cabin is on a mountain in the woods. Refunds will not be provided for the occasional insect that enters the home.

*4x4/AWD vehicles required October - March. Chains are also strongly encouraged. We will work closely with you to determine if conditions are not safe and need to reassess the reservation. Unfortunately we cannot provide refunds to guests that book during these months that cannot make it up the mountain after we advise against it.
